Homecoming
Dress: TJ Maxx/ Clutch: Francesca's (2009)/ Shoes: UO
Incredibly, my very last high school Homecoming has come and gone. Last Friday was the carnival and then Saturday night was the actual dance. My friends and I weren't even sure we were going at first because it sounded like it wouldn't be as good as previous years. The dance seemed pretty unorganized and instead of being at one of the nearby universities, it was in the gym, which we thought would be too small. But seeing as it's our senior year, it would be our last chance at a high school Homecoming, and our friend Ryan had actually never been to one, we decided that we just had to go. And I'm so glad we did. We couldn't take pictures inside, but the gym was decorated with all kinds of lights and balloon arches and they even had a free photobooth. The music was horrible and it was crowded and hard to see and it was perfect.
As we were sitting at dinner, I realized that the clutch I had just grabbed for convenience and because I couldn't find another one was actually the one I bought for my Freshman Homecoming. I still like it, but I remember thinking it was the cutest thing and the exact moment I picked it up at Francesca's, with two of my friends standing next to me. It's a hazy memory, but it's so weird to have memories of Freshman Geometry come with that, and then Chemistry, English, Geography, and Dance. When I just think about it, it seems bizarre that four years have passed, but then I really do realize how much time has passed. I can honestly say that in some ways, I'm still the same, but in others, I really am a completely different person, but in the best possible way. And I'm so glad that I got to celebrate what was a full circle, in a way, with some of my favorite people (although sadly not everyone could make it or was in our group), and Blythe, who I've gone to Homecomings with since the beginning, and Madison, who I've gone to two with out of three. It really was an amazing night.

Fall Woods
Top: Urban Outfitters/ Shoes: Amazon/ Shorts: Old Navy
Last weekend (the day before I got sick, actually), I went over to a friend's house and we decided to do a quick little photoshoot. She should look a little familiar since she's been included and mentioned in many posts before! But anyway, her dog, Seamus, and cat, Johnny, had to come along too, of course. They're seriously the cutest. They bounced around a lot and Seamus was especially great for grasshopper catching and eating. Madison took most of these pictures and I really love how they capture that summer-to-fall transition time we're experiencing right now. I love doing these little photoshoots with friends because of how much fun they are, but it's also nice to put together something for this blog with another person and get something different from what I usually post!

Saturday Night
(Finding and sharing the most ridiculous things on the Internet. Anyone need any horrible Halloween costume ideas?)
Last weekend, I went over to my friend Madison's house for a quiet Saturday night. We were originally going to go see Perks of Being a Wallflower (have any of you seen it?), but her parents needed her to babysit at the last minute, so our plans changed. Still, hanging out, eating unhealthy food, and talking about boys was so good. We usually talk about serious things, too, like life in general, but this time we spent most of our time talking about music and silly things. So it was great to just be ridiculous for a while. It's nice to have such quintessentially-teenager experiences so often. Things like this are my absolutely favorite thing about high school. And I don't know what I would do without this girl.

Summer Ride
Top: Gap/ Dress: Forever 21/ Shoes: Toms
When I first put these pictures together, I had visions of a post where I effortlessly floated along the driveway on this plastic skateboard thing (it's not really a skateboard but it's not exactly a longboard...anyone know?), but I definitely wasn't that good at riding it. Actually...is that the right verb for skateboarding? Riding a skateboard? Well, as you can see, I'm far from good at skateboarding/the lingo/etc, and I even needed some help from Sid to get started. It was still lots of fun and so perfectly summer-y, even with the hot concrete.

Jade
Top: second hand store/ Shoes: UO/ Shorts: Old Navy/ Bag: vintage
As you saw in my last post, I spent a day with my friends Sidney and Blythe at Sid's house, and this is one of the outfits I brought to photograph. Sidney's dog, Jade, was featured a bit in the last post as well, but I just had to include her here. She's just so sweet! She totally loves the attention and actually hit my leg with her paw over and over because I wasn't petting her! And of course, she did that to everyone else, as well! It's hard to not give in to such a sweet face.

Summer and Friends
A week or so ago, I hung out with Blythe and Sidney at Sid's house and it was totally great. Of course, being a blogger, I brought a few outfits along so we could take pictures since my camera won't turn on, but it was tons of fun to just hang out with some old friends (honestly, I've been friends with these girls for almost my entire life: S since I was in first grade and B since fourth!). It's overwhelming and actually a bit nauseating to think that Monday is our first day as high school seniors, so I thought I'd post these pictures from our day. Though that wasn't the last time during the summer that I hung out with friends, it'll probably be last one I write a post about (we didn't really take any pictures of the others). So, slightly ironically, I'm posting it on the first day of school (and writing it on the last day of summer). All right, I'm going to stop writing before I get too emotional, but I'm so glad I have these pictures to look back on.

That One Time I Went To A 1D Concert
Shoes: Toms/ High-waisted shorts: Old Navy (seen here before)/ Tank: Target
You guys, I don't say this without a fair amount of shame, but earlier on in the summer, my friend Madison and I went to a One Direction concert. We did bring her younger sister with us, but we definitely wanted to go. And I can honestly say that it was one of the best nights ever. The opening acts weren't that good in our opinion, and actually, up until the boys actually started singing, we were seriously regretting coming. I was kind of upset since we'd been sitting out in the heat for hours (Madison and her sister waited even longer!) since they didn't open the gates when they said they would, the people around us were pretty obnoxious (there was this one unfortunately drunk mom...), and I was just done. I actually was thinking to myself, "Why am I even here? I'm so done with this band, this is just really stupid." It was just the heat talking, though! About maybe twenty minutes later when the show started, I was having the best time! Okay, so no, their music definitely isn't the best, but in my opinion, it was the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
We didn't bring any actual cameras with us, since we didn't want them out in the heat for that long so all we have are iPhone pictures and this picture I took of my recreated outfit. During the actual show, since I knew I'd be on my feet a lot, I wore tennis shoes, but this was the perfect outfit for the heat. A couple people were in full length jeans and almost all of the One Direction boys had to wear multiple layers during the show. Like, full length pants, shirts, and button downs or jackets! I'm not sure how they all did that, since I was dying in just my shorts and a tank top.
Anyway, as incredibly embarrassing as it is (we actually don't tell people we went. We saw a few girls from our school and hid a little--unspoken rules!), it was absolutely incredible!
