Sketchbook Pages: 3
When I first found Javier Pinon's work on Koi Story, I knew right away that I had to include them in my sketchbook. I absolutely love his way of combining regular images with something that changes everything to be completely different. With just the snake hair, he changed these regular, basic, old-fashioned pictures of women into something that really makes a statement and makes you think. I hope I can do something like that some day. I've also seen work like Maria Aparicio's all over Pinterest, but I like how, similarly to Javier Pinon, she added something really special to a basic piece. These are definitely tactics I want to try out in my own work, so whether or not I actually do anything similar, I was totally inspired!
