Leaves and Things

Yesterday, Blythe came over and brought her amazing camera. We wanted to take advantage of the light and take fall photos, but didn't focus on outfits this time. We found a few incredible pockets of light and took as much advantage of them as we could before the battery ran out. Most of these are barely edited, and I'm so in love with the colors and light that we managed to capture! What do you think about these?

Right now, we have this whole week off for Thanksgiving Break, and it's been absolutely wonderful. I saw Skyfall with a group of friends on Saturday and totally loved it. I haven't really been a big fan of James Bond movies in the past, but my family and I already have made plans to go see it this week and I'm looking forward to watching it again. And hanging out with Madison and our friend Isaac and watching (not so) scary TV episodes has all been a great start to this break. While I have a lot of homework to do as well, it's been so nice to have this time to relax a bit.

Have a happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully I'll have a post next week with great Black Friday finds!

Currently listening to: "Call Them Brothers" by Regina Spektor and Only Son (I've probably linked to this song before, but it's so incredibly beautiful, I just had to again. It's probably one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard, and I love the fall-vibe it kind of has.

Junk and Treasure

My friends and I decided one Saturday to get up early and check out a few garage sales in the area. There were many more than I expected and we found some pretty awesome things! Madison scored some roller skates for $4, Mia bought a sweater with llamas on it for $1, Sidney got a hockey stick for $5, and I found a wonderfully ugly picture frame for 50 cents. At an estate sale, we also saw the most incredible bright red, vintage car, but it was $20,000 and a little out of our price range ;).

After spending three or four hours looking at garage sales, we were more than ready to stop by the square for some frozen yogurt and a little vintage shop exploring. Definitely not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning.

P.S. Thanks, Madison, for taking these outfit pictures!

Summer Day

Remember these outfits? When Blythe and I hung out a couple weeks ago, we also made a quick little video! It's a bit silly since we filmed everything in about a half hour (once I'd gotten the camera to work) and planned it in less, but it was still fun! I also had to choose between what music I already had in my iTunes, and while this song is a little more appropriate for Fall instead of Summer, I liked the feel it gave this little movie!

Adventures in High-Waisted Land

Shorts: Old Navy/Shoes: Francesca's/ Bag: Gap/ Shirt: Abercrombie/ Belt: Forever 21/ Sunglasses: Betsey Johnson via TJ Maxx

I've been looking for printed shorts for forever and so when I saw these at Old Navy (on sale for $10!!) I just had to get them. I didn't realize they were high-waisted until they arrived since I ordered them online, and so I'm doubly excited about them! Since I love mixing patterns, I knew I'd want to do that with these shorts, but originally I wasn't sure what I would pair with them. This shirt just popped into my head, though, so I went with that. I can't wait to try wearing these shorts in other ways, too!

These pictures were taken with Blythe at our old elementary school along the brick wall we originally decided should be our backdrop. We were a little distracted the whole time because in the public library parking lot behind the school we saw three police cars with flashing sirens! Someone was getting arrested, we think, but we had no idea what was going on!

My first gifs! Okay so I cheated and had to use a website, but still!

Such a dramatic picture, but when I sat in Blythe's car to listen to this song she wanted to show me, I thought that space between the open door and car would make a cool frame for a shot. I like how it turned out! It feels very summer-y to me!

While we were shooting, we couldn't stop singing this One Direction song, so we decided to make a little video of it!
